Susanne Hartmann (she/her) engages in conceptual art and tries to stretch the boundaries between art, science and design. Her themes are characterized by a curiosity for the development of things, changing procedures, intervening in processes. The search for parallels between interpersonal relationships and natural laws. The juxtaposition of mathematical rules and social structures. Visualization and discovery as a method.
The dissolution of the separation between nature, culture and technology are central topics. Her research and love for nature, science and music are essential to her work. With a curious attitude towards everything that surrounds us, she explores the deep connections between phenomena, organisms and matter that make up our universe.
Susanne works also as a designer in the field of visual communication. She co-founded a branding and design agency in the heart of Basel.
